Alternatives for the OE Z-32 clock; change pocket, iPod dock etc.

Has anyone removed their clock and installed any sort of pocket or iPod holder in the clock location? (I know that is a popular location for turbo timers). It looks to be an ideal size for the iPod video.

My ’93 N/A Z-32 has a nice clock built into the Alpine CDA 9885 deck so the OE clock is pretty much useless to me, not too mention the OE clock location is far from ideal. My Alpine deck is iPod friendly and I would like to use that location as a pocket/holder/dock for my 80 GB iPod Video while it is plugged into the receiver deck. Possibly set it up as a pseudo iPod docking station, if you know what I mean. Anyone else done this or anything similar? Pics?

Yeah, I generally leave my ash tray out to hold my morning coffee as well. Works pretty good as a cup holder, just unsightly, could use a little trim. For the mean time, I place my iPod in the empty DIN cubby bay under the deck, (used to be the old BOSE center speaker?)

i have an ipod friendly alpine too, and i put my ipod in the glovebox, seeing as the glovebox is basically a joke. it was really easy to route the cable.
