300z newbie
Alright here is the deal..This summer I will have $12000 to work with to buy a car. I am in love with the z32 gen. TT. I would like to know what to look for in these cars, what possible problems to look for, the relibility of the car, and maintainace cost (ie rebuild cost). Any input would help, thank you...

www.twinturbo.net has a lot of good info on their 300ZX FAQ page you will can use now and after you own your z.

Re: 300z newbie
Another thing you can do is call up a Nissan dealership and ask them for a service and warranty history on the car. I ran into a couple that had an really large number of visits and major repairs during the warranty period which lead me to believe they were abused or a bit lemonish off the assembly line. Thats what I did and they were great around here anyway.
I just said I am looking at buying this Z and was wondering if you could tell me what kind of service its been through and what dealership it was sold at based on the VIN. (I did also say I wanted to book the car into the shop once I found one that had a reasonable history on it, maybe that made a difference to)
This affected my choice because alot of them were sold out on the East coast and sat in a humid, rusty environment for years before making it to Alberta where its nice and dry. And don't forget to run a carfax or similar check on it, probably knew that but sometimes we get blinded by a nice ride!
