What should I do to my 87 300z?

The car is how it is, from piece of **** to a running cruisin vehicle. I have seen videos of the "black b*T$c" or the 88 model. As it sounds loud and seems to have good performance, what kind of parts would I need? I pretty much seem to know that the air filter is different from the ordinary and the exhaust is obviously different. I dont know but I need to know what kind of parts are affordable and have quality performance.

The questions you should ask yourself:

How much hp / torque do I realistically want?

How fast do I want the car to be?

Make sure you know the goal before jumping into an overhaul... doctors don't just jump into surgery.

you really got a good point! lol. Well when I first got it, I had no information about the car what so ever, besides the fact that its an 87 Nissan 300zx, I have noticed that it wasnt very common due to the fact that its a two seater and has a digital instrumentation. Either way it would start of with 160 HP right?
