Suddenly everyone in cold weather countries has possible head gasket failure on their minds.

Cooling system pressure test

You should perform a cooling system pressure test. Observe if pressure drops. Look for any external coolant leaks. It may point to an internal one. If pressure is stable. Observe if coolant/smoke is more present when engine is cooler(not at full operating temperature. Would point to a head gasket leak when cold. If pressure drops, listen for leak. Might require a special stethoscope designed for listening for air leaks.
