HICAS removal

Anyone done it, or know of anyone who has? I'm not talking about the HICAS eliminator kit. I'm talking about removing the whole thing. I was following where the hoses go and it doesn't look that bad. It looks like it's just removing all of the plumbing and capping the open fittings, but I could be wrong. I didn't look at it very long.

aren't there feed and return lines like in a regular hydraulic system?
I don't think just capping the lines will work.

I have read up on this before and you will have to swap to a n/a ps pump to completely remove all the lines. http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg...s%3a%3aremoval

Thanks...more work than I want to do at this point. I just need to stop thinking about what else I can do with the car apart. I just need to start the re-assembly process.

Yup.

I finally got the upper plenum back. It looks sweet. I guess I have no more excuses for not working on it. I replaced the power steering rack bushings last weekend. That was lots of fun. Passenger side is easy. Driver side isn't.

I know this is an old thread, but if you take out the HICAS couldn't you just loop the PS lines that went back there and call it a day?
