Need transplant

An update my 93 300zxtt is currently in for the T-top surgery and paint job as well as roll cage insert. Sorry it took so long but to find a suitable craftsman and to be patient while they became free from previous projects was the delay, now I am at a delima. What other things should be done while the car is apart for repairs and paint. Any advice would be appreciated. Example before new carpet trim, finishers etc. goes in what little things should I be doing. Sound dampening, pre wiring for amp and new speakers, any thing that will make future interior work go smoother. Thanks. Eddiezed. (Z ing aand G ing since 1984) 77 280z 93 300zxtt 04 G35.

I really think you should consider 2 things about your car. First if you have rust so bad you are looking to replace your entire top then I would not use a slicktop to do it. Your car is obviously a T-roof car and the structural design is not something you want to tamper with. Cutting the roof is not a simple job and I would be worried if someone could do that well enough. Second is that if you have rust that bad in that location I would say you should look over the entire car. Likely you will have more than that as an issue. At that point you have to ask yourself if the car is still viable to keep it's value for future resale. Do you have some pictures of the rusted spots?

Thanks guys for the input so far. The rust is confined to a strip within the back of the top, but I will probe further while the car is apart and have preventative measures undertaken. The rest of the car is in great shape the only rust were in the battery tray. Fortunately i have found someone with the metal working skills to fix it if i can find a suitable part. I need help in finding this, and no I am not interested in the resale part of the equation. Thanks again.
