Z31 B&M Short Throw shifter

Taking Zbums advise, I'm ordering one soon, summit racing has one for $199, JEGs $201.... I also found one for a silvia that most likely will work. Here's a link to summits site. Does anyone know of a better deal on one of these gems ?

B&M sweetness

z31 na, so I don't run a T5 trans, but thanks for the links. I really like the B&M, it has some really nice features. My mom used to tell me all the time that I have "Cadillac tastes on a Volkswagon budget". But Ill save a bit and get it in a payday or so. And I like that my drivetrain is all nissan, kind of sacrilegious having an american part in the middle. You have to admit that B&M Shifter is the Bee's Knees !!, hehe

Unless that Summit Racing pic of the shifter is wrong, that link you posted is for the Turbo T5.

B&M 45088 Precision Sport Shifter

It does have a close family resemblance to the T5. The T5 shifter is B&M 45050,

The 45088 was made for the 240sx, but according to Zbum it fits the z31 also, its supposed to have very precise shifts, more "fun", we will see, ill do a write-up on the process.

Looks like the T5 is a 4 bolt connection to the transmission, and from pictures in my Haynes, the FS5W71C 5 speed has a 6 bolt pattern, center ones slightly offset to the front.

You didn't actually click the link, did you? If you had, you would have read:
Manual Shifter, Short Throw, Sport, Nissan, 200SX/240SX, Each
Also, please don't recommend one of those cheap knockoffs over a B&M. There is a difference in quality and feel.

Not everyone is cheap, and many people like to have a real short throw shifter. Cutting the stick doesn't make it a short throw, only shorter. If you ever have the opportunity to shift with a real short throw and compare it to a regular or cut shifter, you'll see the huge difference it can make.
