"The Z31 came with three different manual 5 speed transmissions. All manual non-turbos used a 5 speed Nissan transmission (FS5W71C) which is quite reliable. if you have a mill and some 1/4" thick aluminum plate you could make it work with ease.
forgot about the whole 88 trany BS, if i where up to me i would transplant a t56 with a custom bellhousing and input shaft..
