At least that's what I believe it's called (has the 3000/TURBO3000). I searched the threads but couldn't find anything so here is my issue. I am restoring an 88 and cannot, for the life of me, get that freaking cover off. The screws won't budge at all. I sprayed them in a product called Thrust (disolves rust) and still NOTHING. So, anyone have any ideas?

This may sound kind of stupid but how exactly do I do that? Is there a thread or something that tells me how? I just don't want to do any permanent damage. I also knew it was called a plenum cover. I was barely awake when I asked that and couldn't find my words.

 

Use a drill with an appropriately sized drill bit to drill the head off the screw. I'd suggest a reverse bit in case the screws decide to let loose while drilling. Also, do not drill into the metal threads of the plenum if you want to be able to reattach it later.

 

If you have access to a MIG welder, weld a bolt on each one then remove it w/ a ratchet. It would be a lot quicker & cleaner than drilling. If no welder... drilling is about your only option.

 

I never even thought about that...genius idea haha.
