Speedo Update... more help needed less options
OK... well I got my car out of the paint shop (finally) and running aagin. Now I only have one last issue to solve before the new owner takes it. My speedo (as shown in other posts) will read "0" at times and at other times it will work just fine. It never goes out (no lights) but it does just read "0". By the way... this is an automatic, non-turbo, 86z with a DIGI DASH.
Here's what I've done to remedy the problem:
1. Replaced speed sensor
2. Replaced speedo cable
3. Cleaned out speed sensor (nothing was in it... no fluid etc but I Qtiped it for good measure anyway)
4. Replaced the pinion gear w/seals and new sleeve
I am at a complete loss. I messed with the wires on the transmission and they were all plugged in just fine. I'm guessing this is an electrical thing. Anyone have an idea as to where to look? I need help bad/fast.

The digi dash just has a power unit. Sounds to me more like a component in the digi cluster itself is taking a dump. Only a matter of time before it stops reading completely. If you know anything about electronics you should be able to track it down by following the traces on the board from the speed sensor to the IC the translates the pulses to the display bits.
