spark plugs
spark plugs
hey, i'm changing my plugs tomorrow for the first time. ive done it before in other cars, just wondering if there are any tips for the z31. i vaguely remember a post a while back that said there was a trick to one or two of the plugs, but i think it was lost back when they were changing the site around. oh yeah, i'm using ngk.
yes, thats a given, anything in the cyliders besides fuel and air is obviously a very bad thing. but wasnt there some trick with a length of rubber tubing to get one out?

Nah. The only trick is to use the spark plug tool that came with the car.
Number 6 is actually easier to push the boot on with your arm below the plenum. Number 4 is easier with the throttle cable plate removed. Number 2 is easier with the idle control sensors (those cadmium colored things) out of the way.
Numbers 1, 3, and 5 are all fairly straight forward.
Oh, and when installing the new plugs, turn them counter-clockwise until they click into place to prevent stripping the threads.
