My engine recently started ticking bad, cousin says lifters... my car has 247K on the stock turbo engine. There is a 88 non turbo engine with 180k for 200 bucks at a junkyard that just was pulled in, yall think it would be worth it. my Friends 86 Supra started doing the same thing and threw a piston a day later so... I wonder if the compression would get in the way of having around 10psi of boost... or should I just take my motor apart. But I would really just like to swap it and run that one till I have some real money for cams and real upgrades.

 

Might want to find out the problem before buying a new engine...

 

agreed^^^ but if you do get a new engine... why would you get a non turbo when you are turbo???

 

Because I cant buy a turbo engine for 200 bucks. My friend has a good running vg30e that he is swaping a turbo engine into maybe I can get that... My cousins non turbo started with this noise then blew up. I think for now im just going to ride it till it dies unless I decide to rebuild it. I also wanted a new motor because this one has 247k, but I guess ill ride it till it dies or I rebuild it, I just dont want it to break at a time when im low on cash...
