people always ask these questions and there's no answer to them! It depends on the condition of your engine, air leaks, etc. There's SOOOOO many variables there's really no good answer.

To rest your mind...

Stock 86 turbo had about 200 flywheel hp @ 6.7psi.

Your 86T:

- 10psi boost: +20hp
- 3" exhaust: +2 to 4hp
- Cone filter: +1 to 3hp
- Performance intake manifold (REALLY DEPENDS ON QUALITY): 0 to +10hp
- 60mm TB (benefit only if used w/ performance intake... it's been proven to make no difference on the stock Z31 manifold). On performance intake: +2 to 4hp

I believe the stock 0-60 time is around 6.5sec & the quarter mile in the high 15's and in the ~85mph trap speed. At 10psi, you should be able to get into the low 15's or high 14's & in the 90mph range.

These are just rough estimates, so take em or leave em. You'd be wise to get an INTERCOOLER as well.

how hard is it to swap out a turbo on a scale to 1-10 ... i've done a timing belt 60,000 job and that was a big pain in the butt the first time doing it, now I could prob do it in a day with no probs

bolt out and bolt in. Turbo's are easy to swap. Take off the intake, unbolt the turbo from the downpipe, unbolt from the exhaust manifold. Unbolt the oil lines and air lines and you should be out. To put a new one in, the same procedure backwards. You may need a different flange to fit a bigger turbo on though, so look into that. And 2nd. Get an intercooler.
