calling all z aficianados so far no fixes offered
Compression? really....... Let me reiterate, car runs great until it gets to operating temp. then it is like someone thru a switch and it wont get out of its own way. If I pull over and disconnect the CHTS it runs great. I would run it like this permanently however it's a real hard start when cold with the CHTS disconnected, and i need to get the car inspected. The hydrocarbon readings are 2703 ppm with it disconnected which results in a fail. So it runs great when rich, runs terrible when lean. What the hell is causing it to lean out so much at operating temperature? I ran the ECU diagnostic and it returned a 44 code.
After reviewing all your posts, I see no mention of checking the TPS or air regulator, or checking a/f ratio when the problem is happening. I suggest doing so (all 3 things).
Also, have you tried another turbo ECU? When I upgraded my 280ZXT to the Z31T ecu / maf, I remember reading online (ZBum's web site???) that the 84T ecu was notorious for having cold start idle problems.

TPS has continuity, just replaced the MAF then ran ECU diagnostic on it, both led's blink at an idle and thru RPM spectrum up to 2,000 RPM's however they do blink at about a 5 second interval (together) so they stay on for about 5 seconds blink off for maybe 2 seconds then come back on for about 5 seconds, the pace does not change at any RPM between 650 RPM thr 2,000 RPM. When you mention the Air reg. do you mean the A.A.C ?
