Where's the stupid sensors???
For the life of me, I just can't find the knock sensor and exhaust gas temp sensor on the Z31 Turbo. Can someone please help me?
I was under the impression the knock sensor was on the right side of the head and the exhaust gas temp sensor was near the EGR. But all I could find was some small "thermal sender" on the right side of the head (pictured on the left), and some unknown sensor on the left side of the engine. What does that "thermal sender" do? And is that sensor on the left side actually the knock sensor (if it is, does anyone know what size socket to bring)? And where is the exhaust gas temp sensor?
If anyone could provide some pictures of where these sensors are located, I'd be eternally grateful.

The Knock sensor is located on the passenger side of the block right behind the Motor mount. We do not have EGT sensors.

CALifornia and FEDeral ECU’s can interchange. The only known physical difference in the CAL version is the presence of an EGT sensor.

Pic 2: Temp sensor for the injector cooling fan.
Silver valve covers indicate you have an NA motor, so there would be no knock sensor.
