Tail lights always on
All of a sudden my tail lights are always on. This just happened this morning I guess. The only way I can keep them off is by removing the fusable link, I used a makeshift one, but they come right back on, this is even when the car is off. I could not trace down the wiring for the tail lights, if anyone has any diagrams I would love it if they could send me one. Also what is the amps on the fusable link for headlights / tail lights? If I can't get it working, may have to take it to Nissan and pay an arm and a leg.

Re: Tail lights always on
look in the drivers floorboard up near the pedals, you may find small hard plastic whitish pieces - if so then that used to be the button that depresses the brake switch which turns off your brake lights. as a temporary fix you can cover the hole with a nickel and piece of duct tape, or screw a nut/bolt into the hole. look up on the pedal (you have to lay on the floorboard like a contortionist to do this) and use a flashlight to see if it's gone. there are 2 buttons on the brake pedal - one for turning on brake lights, the other to cancel cruise when you push the brake pedal. if you have a 5-spd, there's also one on the clutch pedal for turning off the cruise if you push the clutch.

Re: Tail lights always on
Yeah, the head install tech at my work pointed that out. I was working on it, and there are 2 buttons on the brakes, a white and black one. Both are missing the backings on the brake, and they do not go out with the brake, just stay stationary. I had to disconnected both the power cords behind them to turn off the lights. Maybe not as bad as I thought, but still its a pain in the butt to get too.
Thanks,

you can put a nut/bolt thru the holes and never have to worry about replacing them again.
or, if you're on a really tight budget.... a nickel held over the hole with a piece of duct tape works too (that was my temp fix before i found a nicely sized nut/bolt).

it's 'supposed' to be a little plastic button. after 15 or so years tho, it just doesnt hold up like it used to...
the new buttons are green (or at least the ones i got for my show car were).
