Ok this may **** some of you off (cuz of the newbie factor involved)...but i was wondering....is it just me or is there practically no aftermarket support for the z31? Does anybody know why this is...or is it simply cuz nobody likes the car?
no support because most of the owners are cheap *** pieces of shiznit that can barely afford the gas they put in it. Think about it. The cars can be picked up for $1000. They aren't worth more than $4000 in nice shape. Good modifications cost in the neighborhood of $1000. Why would anyone want to spend $2000 to $3000 on mods to a car that when it gets bumped in the grocery store parking lot gets totalled out?
Companies are in it for making money. And a car that costs $3000 with very little buying market is not going to be economically smart to make parts for. If you want aftermarket support, you buy a Honda or a Firebird/Camaro or a Mustang. Those are popular because people actually dump money into them. And the engines were used for so long that it doesn't matter what year the parts are primarily sold to, the other years can buy and use them too.

...very well put.
That makes sense in every sense i guess. My car actually cost me $800 canadian but oddly enough everything works..even that little voice that tells me my lights r on. And for the record i drive a civic rite now...and my brother has a camaro
I think the z31 is an ideal project car..especially for a beginner like me. Its rear wheel drive, and has respectable power (can still kill most civics). Plus none of those fast and the furious fans r liable to rice it out anytime soon. I think i like that the best.

I'm gonna fix up my Z once I get the supra back on the road, even with the car running like ****, like it is, it still is very good on fuel... much better then my supra, or my truck, or my celica for that matter... I really like this dumb little car... plus with all the options, its pretty cool.

Hey I agree with you. Sure the radio looks like it should have stayed in the 80's..and yes that steering wheel belongs on star trek, but i love my car. How many other cars have a freaking acceleration gauge in it?!?!?

Well let me put it to you this way... I have a tattoo of the toyota emblem I love my supra so much... but I'm starting to like this little Z car... and I'm sure a nice Z on my arm would be pretty cool too...
Something about digital dash that is just O-SO-COOL... lol...

haha I was thinking someday of getting a "Z" tattoo'd on my arm. my first sports car. I mean, cmon itll never go out of style. the Z is legendary. Just dont tell people its a Z31, hehe.
Haha hey i'll tell whoever wants to know that my car is a z31. I dont see the problem with it. Sure it may not be a pure sports car..so wat..its not like im gonna break any land speed records on my way to work for god's sake.
But hey the fact that nobody likes these z31's is fine with me...that means more parts for the rest of us
