1985 Z31 NA.
AC compressor was squealing. Took it to the shop. No refrigerant. Pulled the compressor at home. Now it starts, but if I depress the accelerator, it stalls out. What am I missing here?
Does the electrical connector to the AC have a bigger role than I thought? What else might I have done? I did this.

I've made an honest attempt to find the answer here. If I missed it, please just post the link and call me a noob. The vitriol really doesn't help. Thx

Welcome to ZDriver!

I'd say something else got disconnected... probably either the MAF or CHTS plugs, or a loose intake boot. Start with checking the ecu diagnostic codes.

BTW, you don't have to remove the compressor, just the belt... (too late now).

I completely agree, I didn't need to remove the compressor. I also own an 87 Camry. (I got kids, it's a slow but dependable family car. I have to get them to school every morning after all.) When the Camry's AC compressor died, I cut the belt and figured I would just ditch the compressor but... I couldn't get to one of the mounting bolts without a lot of work. Hence, I just bought the belt for the the non-ac version. No clearance issues and it worked like a charm.

The Z seemed easier. It came out without any problems. Oops! Like I said, I did this. I'm off to figure out the ECU (yeah, that's going to be fun). Thanks for the direction. I appreciate it.
I hope I can continue to break cars until I die. I learn so much by breaking things.

Thanks!!! I got the code for the MAF. Thought about it and realized I didn't do anything to the MAF. So I went back and checked all the connections into the intake. I cracked two hoses. Duct tape at the moment, neither hoses are available from Nissan. I'll drive the Camry until I figure out real replacements.
