just pulled a 10 in the quarter!
Hahaha, ten minutes that is. My car is still lacking in a motor. But now that i have your attention i have some questions. I want to drag my car. Is my traction going to be horrible with 245s on the rear of my car? they are bridgestone re730s. Im worried about hooking up!
Thanks all- Evan
Well while i have it apart i might as well........

Well you are one step ahead of pete on hybrid. He's pulling 10 years in the quarter, and counting. I hear his Z is a sight to behold however... 10 years of work pays off.
A guy named Rick on hybrid is pulling some nasty quarter mile times with NO2, somewhere in the high 11's I think. He's using little Nitto drag radials on 14" stock wheels. Just a thought that you might want to pick up a set of the little wheels on the stock Z's, and run a seperate set of tires for the strip.

Evan, if you plan to actually take the car to the drag strip, street tires, even 245s, are going to be useless unless you are willing to give up a couple of tenths because of lack of traction. Sort of defeats the purpose. Like Drax said, invest in a pair of Nitto Drag Radials. With 245s, I assume you are running 245/45-16s. The Nittos are an excellent street tire and have phenominal grip at the track. Tread life will be about 8-9K but that is not really worse than some of the agressive Z-rated radials anyway.

I think Evan is onto 17" or 18" wheels now...?
Remember that running such a low profile tire will hurt you in the 1/4 because you won't get that sidewall flex so necessary to get a good launch. Compound can make up for that in part. Oppositely, the low profile will help a lot in the twisties, with minimal sidewall flex!
Get some cheap 14" wheels for the strip!
