Lucas Transmission Fix Fluid....Thoughts?
Lucas Transmission Fix Fluid....Thoughts?
So I got my z31T last year and the transmission seemed ok when I purchased the car, handled boost just fine and I was able to drive it all the way home about 15 miles...drove it around for a few days and slowly the transmission started to show signs of an issue, like slippage and rough shifting.
this website http://lucasoil.hodgsoncorp.com/slip...ansmission.htm Says their product will stop those issues. Anyone else try something like this?

I don't think you're going to find an absolute "it's good" or "it's crap" answer. I did a quick google search & found mixed reviews:

Thick fluids aren't good for auto transmissions, but if it's toast anyway, it can't hurt to give it a try.

About 5 years ago I was at Miles Unlimited Z on Beck Street talking to Monty. He mentioned something that he put in his Ford Taurus & the tranny went from "no shifting" to "drives like it's brand new". I just can't remember what it was......
Lol, others have told me that they put this in a transmission that was on its last leg with like 200k miles on it and it make it shift normal, not slip and basically made it like a new tranny.
Monty I am sure has put just about everything in some of his cars, he is an awesome Z enthusiast, but sometimes he is wayyyyyyy out there high on somethin

Probably Sulphur, that is what was used on dynaflows in the 50's.
Must have been Hundred dollar bills. A worn out trans is still a worn out trans no matter what fluid you put in it. Z31 E4N71B auto trans is not a reliable transmission for the kind of driving most of us do. Do a manual swap before you consider a rebuild. ($1200 to 1600 for a rebuild)
