Headlight High Beam problem

the headlight high beams in my 84 300ZX don't turn on when I pull back on the turn signal switch - I hear the relay click but the lights just go out instead of burning brighter. Is my relay shot or is there some other component I should check out/replace. Thanks

it could be the switch itself. remove the steering wheel, and the 3 tiny phillips screws holding it to the cluster of switches around the steering shaft, and you'll see the backside of the switch has a thin cover over it. gently pry that loose and either try contact cleaner, and if that doesnt work, some fine emery cloth to clean the contacts.

I had my alternator tested and found out the diodi is low in amperage. Could this singlehandedly being causing my problem? My indicators lights flicker when I brake or accelarate and hear a clicking sound almost behind my oil pressure gauge in the dash.

I am having the same problems with my dummy lights, they come on when I accelerate or when i'm playing my stereo loud, they keep a beat with the music. what have you found about your alternator?
