CHTS wtb

I need to get a new or used CHTS asap. i had one ordered from 300zxpartsforyou.com but it won't arrive in time and i need to work on it this weekend. does anyone know of parts stores (i'm in portland) that carry the CHTS? napa and autozone don't seem to have it, they just have coolant temperature sensors...damnit, i knew this would happen, and i told the guy i would pay whatever for expedited shipping. DAMNIT!!!

or does anyone know if i can use a cylinder head temperature sensor from a different model car, perhaps the z32, something that a parts store might have in stock?

You could always find out what resistance the sensor is under normal temps and get a resistor of the same resistance you can put in it's place until the new one comes.

what napa is calling the coolant sensor may be what you need. there is confusion about chts and coolant sensor. If they have a picture of it if it has two pins probably what you want.

If you don't buy it from the dealership, don't buy it. I always tell people to buy their electrical sensors from the dealership. Then they go buy the shitty parts from autozone and wonder why they fail prematurely.

No. Part stores do NOT carry the same quality parts your dealership gets.

thanks for the advice zbum, and i agree...i simply don't have time to get one from a dealership tomorrow and tomorrow is the day i have to do this work, thus getting one from autozone or napa which are both less than 5 minutes away and open on sundays. when i have the need and the time to i will get electrical sensors from the dealer; in the mean time i just hope the chts i get from the parts store or the junk yard suffices.

i did find these, however, from courtesyparts.com,

i *think* these are what i need...i just wish i'd found them a week ago and not tonight, when i have to start working on my Z tomorrow morning!

I called him a couple of times an he seemed really nice and shipped my part the same night i made the payment.
