Best Locations for Z31 customization information?
Hey my friends,
I've been a long-time member, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to change my childish user name from 15 years ago. So I made a new account.
Over 10 years ago I sold all of my Z cars for one reason or another. I had 4 Z31's and 1 Z32 at one point. I'm starting to consider getting back into the hobby and buying an 86 Turbo GL model.
I'm fairly competent with a wrench, but I would like to learn from others' experiences before I make the same (possibly costly) mistakes. My plan is to fully restore the car, body kit, full repaint, brakes, suspension upgrades, etc, over a 5 year period. I am however stuck on what to do about power. Keep the VG30? Swap to a VG33? Swap to a RB26? Swap to an LS engine? Whatever option I go with, I'm looking to be in the 500Hp to 600Hp range and be very street-able.
Here's my question. I've started to compile information on this build. Most of the time when I start google searching topics I end up at webpages that have shut down for years, or pages that are so old, that some of the information provided isn't relevant today. Whats the best source for information revolving around engine swaps on the z31 platform? Is it this forum board? Or another source I'm missing entirely?
