Stock rim refinishing question

Hi All,

Quick question. I have an 85 4 lug non turbo with the stock rims. Rims are in need of refinishing. Has anyone done this? Do I sand blast and reclear? I am open to what anyone else has done.

Thanks

I'd sand all the clear coat off, then do a whole lot of wetsanding, slowly working your way up to 2000 or so grit, then some sort of polishing compound to smooth it all out. That's what I did for the wheels on my dad's camaro and they turned out fairly well.

Very labor intensive, but, worth the effort. I've done a set of stock z31, and, a set of z32 wheels. Looked great when polished.

Use this method for the best results.

Great advice... I'll put my car up on jacks this winter and polishing the rims will be one of my projects.

Thanks Guys...
