your best bet is to take off one of the old springs and go to a spring shop and have a set custom made. also you might have carb clearance issues.

if you can find an olds 260 V8 the compact size would make for a much easier size while still enjoying the easy to find parts... they came in the late 70's olds.

Since the 260, 307, 350, and 403 are exactly the same size........

An SBC that looks like it was done properly and have a bunch of power will cost a lot more money than a VG30ET that looks good and has the same amount of power. And what parts are you having a problem finding? I've never had an issue with parts.

agreed. not cost effective to go SBC. Dr. Buddah did the swap, and did it right, but it was definately not the cheap route.

you may be able to get more power for less money with the vg30t, but the vg30t wont run as reliably in the higher HP numbers as an sbc..

An engine is as reliable as you want to make it. There are a few 400+ hp VG motors running around reliably.

which makes the VG the HP-$ just a little cheaper then the RB, the only problem with the cost of the RB is the purchasing of the motor itself..
