changing struts

changing struts

changing front struts on my z31, almost done..on the passenger side there is a bar that comes down and connects to knuckle arm under strut assembly there is a bolt on top and has a cotter pin threw it holding a ball in a socket.. well any ways the ball popped out of place and when i stick it back in it just slides back out.. does anyone know what i should do??
i would appriciate it thankx.

That would be your outer tie rod end and it is now fubared . I suggest you replace the tie rods on both sides of your car. I just changed mine, they are about 20 bucks each.
