the Best Sway bars

Does anyone know of any sway bars for a z31 other than the MSA Sway bars?

I have looked on z31.com, hybridz and here, but i cant seem to find anything.
i guess i am looking in the wrong place or there aren't any others out there.

i thought there was a set from suspension techniques.

i would like to pay less that $280 for the setup.

I checked my Victo... Oh wait, my Black Dragon Auto catalog and the Z31 is skipped in their Suspension techniques sway bars. They've got the S30, S130, and then the Z32. But no Z31.

They do however have Z31 swaybars in their catalog. Just not Suspension Techniques.

thanks for the info.

i have heard that the sway bars will improve the suspension more than the strut bars.

What does everyone else think?

My plan is to get the sway bars before the strut bars.

NismoPick,

Where did you get the Sway Bars in the pic. from and the end links. I haven't seen those type of end links before.

Sway bars are designed to reduce body roll. Strut bars are designed to reduce chassis flex. So a roll bar is really a win-win situation as long as you don't go over board. A strut bar is only as effective as your chassis needs it to be but also doesn't have any disadvantages other than the obstruction it causes when installed. So what do you have more of? Chassis flex or body roll?

to be honest,

I don't know yet. I just bought a new-to-me 88 300zx. the suspension needs to be replaced, so i am putting a Tockico suspension on it with the bushing kit from MSA. Then adding the MSA sway bars probably.

I have another 88 but i put Eibachs on it and they suuuuck. Live and learn. i am in the process of changing cars b/c i wrecked my 1st Z. And i want to fix a good 300zx for everyday driving and roadtrips in the mountains.

OK, so I can't read sometimes. Sway bar, not strut bar.

You are going to love the poly bushings, the tockico shocks are very nice. I did both of those on my Z a little while back, and I went with Intrax lowering springs (nice and stiff with a 1.3 inch drop). I also put 1 inch wheel adapters on, and a front strut brace. My Z took corners pretty good with the stock components. But now, while cornering, it digs a hole in the road. Very fun.

If it's just going to be a daily driver, you really don't need bigger sway bays, not to say that they won't be fun though.

I agree sway bars aren't really necessary on a daily driver. But strut bars can add a little more predictability to the way the car handles. You'll be able to feel the limits better. Sway bars on the other hand do their job by extending the limits of your car.

I'd keep the stock sway bar and add urethane bushings and go with strut tower bars personally. If you plan on racing then you might want to think about both.

I love corners and want the car ready for the tail of the dragon at ZDayZ.
I will probably get the Sway bars then maybe strut bars.

FreeLanceBum,
what wheel spacers are you talking about? Do you mean the spacers at the bottom of the strut tower were the steering knuckle is? If it does, how much did it help?

Thanks For all the help guys.

They are actually called wheel adapters, spacers are no good. These bolt on to where the wheel does, then the wheel bolts to these.
These will work for any Z31 with the 5 bolt hubs: http://www.ezaccessory.com/Wheel_Ada.../5450-5450.htm

They help some in cornering, because they give me a little wider stance. It's only 2 inches wider, but it does help a bit. Also, they look really nice on the car.

Comparison;

Yeah spacers are unsafe. Dont let Rod hear you say you're putting spacers on your car. Get adapters.
