I bought my 86 turbo 300zx and the guy before me was halfway through installing an aftermarket 10amp/12v radiator fan that was supposed to be activated by a covered toggle switch. so i figured, that with a simple fuse tap, i could tap into a 10amp fuse that is only activated while the ignition is active. ive tried the digital gague fuse (third from the top in the middle row) and also the a/t control (5th from the top?)

so after blowing 2 fuses, what are my options? i need help. i have no electircal knowledge, and i know theres a way to have the fan wired into the system, and not neccisarilly via fuse tap. that was just the easiest thing i thought of.

any help would be great.

 

Use a relay with the appropriate sized fuse.
