Front light: should be easy

Hello,

I am trying to remove my front light but I am stock.

For sure, that should be easy, I am just missing.
The problem is I cannot access directly the lower screws under the holder...
(and they are seazed)
In the Owner Manual, it looks like the light is "popup" higher

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Max

You are not trying to take the lens out to change the bulb..right?
Why are you taking it out? Moisture? Condensation?

Hello Donn,
Neither moisture nor condensation.
My high normal beams are not working correctly. (it is a bit more complex, but let's keep it like that for the moment.)
I have new lens, and I want to check if the problem is the lens or something more electric...

Did you change the bulb? You do not have to take the lens out for that. Just checking to make sure.
They boys always say one should check he headlight switch. Corrosion sometimes builds up on the copper contacts and needs to be cleaned out. There are videos to demonstrate how this is done.

if you would really like answers that would help you and avoid flames give the following info when you post: year of car, n/a or turbo engine, stick or slushbox. Most of us can tell by the year what model you have ie 85T is a turbo z31. Z cars come in many flavors and they are all different. example 84,85,86 Z31's pretty comparable. there were changes in 87,88,89. in addition 300ZX can refer to two completly different cars the Z31 and the Z32. No mindreaders here the more info you can post the more likely you get a cogent useful answer. The cars with L engine (straight six) changed almost yearly from their introduction. A 240Z and and a 280Z have similarities but they can also have wide variance.

in this case very important. up to 86 it was a sealed beam. after bulb. so advice you get will be dependent on the year

you need to take off the trim ring. one screw as I remember then you can get to the screws to remove the headlight. actually I found easier to pull the whole unit. three m6 and two m8 is what I remember. download the fsm from xenon I think the procedure is in there or in the users manual that came with the car.
