how is that even possible? The "shaft" inside the speedo connects directly to the "shaft" in the tranny correct. And that is mitregeared to somethign inside the tranny. (Thats the way most work) Aw jeez there is blood coming out my nose.

Speedo Miles are jammed. They don't spin, and i can't even reset the trip meter. Time for another speedo.

Blaaaaa!. Thought this would fit the title. Last night i had some freinds over. i started it up. and moved it around. reved it a lil and just let it idle. I love the way it makes the car rock while it's idleing at 1K.(and it has good mounts) It's probly the fact that 2 or 3 cylinder's are burning coolant and gas. While i was siting there idleing, i reved it. Of course she was smokin. and ppl thougth i was spraying for skeeter's. I noticed a new smell. and a much thicker smoke. i looked down and the warning box was flashing the water light. Since i was only about 50 feet from where the Z sits. i parked it. lifted the hood. I thought that maby my leaky WaterIntake gasket(it leak's) finaly let loose. Nothin was wet. I opend the radiator cap(was warm, but not hot) i heard a gurgaling noise as soon as i took cap off. I looke din it, and i saw All the water just disaper. I was like WTF. Then i heard what sounded like a waterfall. All the water drained out the driver side of the block out of a freeze plug. Found out that the frezze plug installed only 3 months ago, was not installed right. it was taped in. and she did not tightin up the bolt on it. I found the freeze plug, Some how it stayed in the engine bay, and was undamaged. and i could see a ring in the rubber where it had been siting in the block. it was not even installed half way in. Thank God this happed 50 feet from my drive way, and not goin down the road, and a hell of a tiem to do it too, since the head is comin off tomarrow. that will also give me lots of room to install it right. Nothin overheated. or was damaged. Just thought i would share it.

yeah I'd say it's borderline. Good that it didnt happen on the road but I dont know if it can qualify as good luck since it happened at all

Regardless, it's good that you caught it fubar

That's great to hear Fubar, you got lucky, for sure. That would have been a disaster down the road. I have never had to deal with freeze plugs on any of my cars yet.
