Valve cover/Air intake color code
Valve cover/Air intake color code
The guy who owned my 280zx before me painted the valve cover and air filter a god awful hot rod red, which would be fine, on a barracuda or mustang, but this is a Z, and I like stock looks, I would be fine with the color if it matched the car but it doesn't, does anybody know the original color code of the Valve cover and airfilter, I know its a light bluish, but I dont know exactly, I was a bit surprised xenon didn't have that tid bit of info on his color page
The "color" of the stock n/a valve cover is "aluminum" because...well... it's aluminum.
It had a protective coat that is usually found to be faded and flaking due to corrosion, which will give a white and/or goldish look.
As for the air filter box, engine block, alternator bracket, vapor canister bracket, crank and idler pulleys, etc... I don't know of any paint code because it's not a "body" color. I would say Sky Blue.
Stock engine bay (a google find for ya):

oh, it must have just been the air filter that was blue then, I could have sworn I saw a 280z or zx that had a valve cover that was light blue, oh well aluminum will look good, gonna be a lot harder to do though lol thanks
