http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/rusty97/

so far i have completly stripped he car down and now im working from the ground up.

after a loooot of hours and elbow greease lol i stripped the entire under chasis to metal then primed with anti rust, and recoated with that gunk for noise and water proof. This time in black since it will match he car better.

the differential i took it apart and serviced it, also i was playing around with paint colors as you can see the differential cover is painted lime green this is set now as the color of the chassis in the future.

ive replaced all bushings with prothane ones
all heat shields have been sanded and painted with black high heat paint
tokico shocks
tokico lowering springs
the entire suspension and steering has been redone basically
all the ball joints are new, the steering parts i sanded them down and repainted them.
i found a dude selling brand new boots for the front suspension for 5 bucks as mine where nonexistent lol.
oh and i found a website that makes stainless steel break lines in dif colors so i got them in red tomatch all the bushins and the paint job i did on the calipers and ofcourse new rotors

as a bonus i had paint left over and i found a bike that some on has tossed away so i picked it up took it apart fixed it and painted it the same style my car is going to be lime green with black rims lol.

tell me what you guys think so far

Looks great. A lot of hard work A couple things you probably didn't know.... you might want to use a set of stock rubber spacers for the TC rods. Guys have had them break because the urethane ones are too hard so they either run stock rubber or Techno Toy Tunning TC rods (which you could hang the whole car off of one of their TC rods....). The other thing you might want to consider even though you've already painted over them... the material they used for the seam sealer is actually porous and attracts and holds moisture. It's the main reason these cars rot out. Dig the old stuff out and paint and seal with a modern urethane or rubber seam sealer. That will keep the water out. If you can do it on both sides even better. Paint over it all again once you're done and she's sealed up. If you find you have some rust under the old seam sealer make sure to get rid of as much as possible then use a rust converter on it before you seal and paint.

brake lines

this was the original bid on the break lines at the bottom it has his website.
i had contacted him and we dealt outside ebay and the break lines are really awsome and well done. the price is not bad either.

for the tc rods i didnt know that thanx for looking out, you know i was wondering the same thing when i was putting on the rods cuz even the same is different it dosent give room to tilt like the stock ones did. When i was installing them omg it took a lot to get them in right and they are so tight already. i could go back to original ones since they shouldnt be expensive.

and these babies are 200 bones

as for the sealent etc when i took the undercoating off and stuff i found only 1 rust hole the size of a quarter, thats it lol lucky! i sanded it all down, treated it and bondo it. I didnt know the original seals attracted moisture but since i gutted it and i was down there i had put new rubber seam sealer lol im glad i had done that now lol.

It's pretty important to dig the old seam sealer out as it likely has moisture and/or rust underneath it. Looks great from the top but the dirty little secret is trapped beneath. Sealing it up helps because it keeps new water from getting in but what's in there already will continue to rust. The new seam sealer won't keep oxygen out.....

I finally got done with the body work and all that jazz and now im reinstaling everything back on the car. ofcourse polishing and replacing 90% of sensors cables etc. last week i installed the engine and im now waiting for my headers, belts and fuel injectors to arrive to finish putting on seals etc.
here is a link to the album updated

<div style="width:480px;text-align:right;"><embed width="480" height="360" src="http://pic2.pbsrc.com/flash/rss_slideshow.swf" flashvars="rssFeed=http%3A%2F%2Ffeed152.photobucke t.com%2Falbums%2Fs196%2Frusty97%2F280zx%2Ffeed.rss " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" /><a href="javascript:void(0);" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/share/icons/embed/btn_geturs.gif" style="border:none;" /></a><a href="http://s152.beta.photobucket.com/user/rusty97/library/280zx" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/share/icons/embed/btn_viewall.gif" style="border:none;" alt="rusty97's 280zx album on Photobucket" /></a></div>
