So now its on to phase 2 of the swap. Nissan doesnt know what ghetto rigging is nor do they want to. So now i have the fun task of swaping the entire turbo car harness. Yay. But on the upside is that with this new task ive been enticed to do a lil weight reduction. So since the dash was out. . . .i tossed the heatercore, blower, speakers, unnecesary brackets, sensors, radio compenents, plastic venting. . . .you should see the pile. Its impressive whats stuffed under there. Pics to come later. I wish i was at MSA

Be warned, they have no mounting tabs. Yes, none at all. You have to build a "tray" of some sort to hold it in top and bottom. weird. They say "universal mounting" which means no mounting tabs. Summit Racing sells them

very nice!
I remember that first evening of starting it up. There were still a lot of bugs to fix before it was a decent driver. I eliminated the carbon canister because it was the source of some leaks even though every line was new.
How many slick top turbos do you see around? Not many. For some reason I think that all factory turbos came in a t-top car.

what all was touched during the swap, wiring??? dont forget to make sure all the wires are clean and dry!!! and vacuum leaks are fun, until they happen to you, just get some brakleen and go to town, methodically.

As usual its the most simple fix. In my excitement to hear my Z live once again- i installed the AFM, dont laugh. . . . backwards. Its pretty easy to do since the NA body had no provisions for the turbo afm. Regardless, she runs like a ****en champ. You can hella hear the rubo spool when revved. Its a thing of beauty. So as of now ive done the turbo swap which included swaping the ENTIRE wiring system from the other car in to the NA chasis, T5 tranny, complete rear end; swing arms/cv's/diff, brand spanking new radiator for DIRT cheap through nissan whcih includes an oil cooler line, and removed every single unneccesary accesory. Gutted the dash of everything cept for gauges. Removed most of the interior, which i'll make pretty somehow, but for now shes gunna run empty. Man the list goes on. But i hyave to say this was the easiest and dare i say, fun, project ive ever done. It was just time consuming. I would have to say its been about 2 weeks all together spread over . . .what . . .6 months? Well, the old motor went out on Dec 10th. You do the math. I cant ****en wait to hit the streets again. All i gotta do now is put the dash back in, get an exhuast welded up and "smog" her.

Congrats man, great to hear bro'. Glad everything worked out for you. And you know it was worth all that work eh? Hopefully all will go well, when I get ready to do my turbo swap. Mad props to you man, and hey how about some pics and or video? he he

Dude, since you have everything gutted, we should weigh your car. If she's still running, you should bring it down to the shop next Saturday and we'll put it on the scales...

Haha, it sure does say rubo, doesnt it. Well yea, im down to visit the legendary garage of lww and weigh the Z. I dont think the weight savings will be anything significant though cuz the huge pile of stuff that was on the ground by the time i was done was mostly plastic. We gunna weigh it gansta or compelte? And by that i mean gauges just sitting ont he dash frame like i plan to run it until i get my dash refinished or with the dash installed? Dash is a good 30lbs?
