Turbo fuel pump
Turbo fuel pump
Does anyone know if there is a physical difference between the turbo fuel pump and the non turbo fuel pump? I was under the turbo car today to pull the fuel pump off when I noticed that the mounting bolts and what not were really rusted and corroded like it had been there for a while. Problem is that my turbo parts car was in fact a turbo swap itself and was originally an NA. It looks like that is the pump that was originally on the car. It also looks just like the NA pump on my other Z. Is there a way to tell them apart just by looking? I dont want to go to the trouble of removing it if its an NA pump.
Also, does anyone have a turbo fuel pump they want to get rid of if this ends up being an NA pump? Name your price. Oh and a good working pump too please

The $100 pump MSD sells for HiPo injection is the same as The Master/ Borg warner brand from Kragen. The box say it will deliver up to 90 Psi and i dunno how many lph. MSD says its good for 500hp Im pretty sure. the only crappy thing is that the pickup line on the pump is 1/2", and the line on the car is 3/8". the only solution that I found was to use 1/2" hose and lots of hose clamps. there isnt enough room for any kind of adapter. Other than that the pump kicks ***!
Thanks for all the help guys. I'm thinking I figured out what the problem was. The car was running really rough, which I got straigtened out. It was loose connectors. But it still has a high RPM problem. It just didnt want to accelerate at higher rpm's. So I'm starting to figure maybe it was just the fact that it had an inadequate fuel pump. Idled fine, part throttle or light acceleration was fine. But as soon as it would start to scream it would just start struggling. Just sucks that I have to wait so long to drive the damn thing. I got the turbo car completely stipped yesterday. Everything but the rear end (I want those CV's). This weekend I'm going to have someone rent me an engine hoist and go ahead and drop that motor in there.
Yeah its the stock FPR. But the engine is still completely stock so it should be up to the task. I tried swapping it out for the one off my NA and it still had the same problem. The NA regulator is in good working condition so I dont think its that. I havent checked fuel pressure yet. My main thing right now is just getting the swap done. I cant even drive the car til I get this damn braclet off my ankle. I've gone through all the electrical components and everything checked out OK. It's just not getting enough fuel and its got to be either the injectors or the pump. But my money is on the pump since driveability is perfect througout the rest of the power band.
