Where are you at in CA? I'm selling the whole turbo, engine, Transmission, wire harnesses as a complete turbo swap. Let me know if you are interested.

You can run 8lbs with the stock J-Pipe. You're way better off to run an intercooler of course even at stock boost levels. 10 lbs with the stock T3 and intercooler is fine. 14lbs on the stock T3 is the max but you're way off on the efficency and just pumping hot air - a bad idea on a L series engine.

Make sure you have enough fuel for the extra air you are pumping in....

A stock head gasket is also in a way a fail safe - eg the weakest link in the chain. A metal head gasket eliminates that but also allows you to run a higher boost levels and make more HP.

im in sac, a guy out at vendetta motor sports in modesto qouted me 3k for the whole turbo kit, intercooler turbo everything i need including head studs, and metal head gasket @fric frac, so i could potential run higher boost and be safe on an n42 head? like 10psi max

and evendubya, ill think about it, i dont have much money with this trip i have coming up soon, the only reason im considering this and for vendetta to do it is because i can make payments, i know it sounds bad but im 19 and make 8 buck an hour, hopefully getting a raise soon or being promoted.

Ok, That doesn't sound bad at all. When I was 19, I had to save for college on break, and travel 200 miles round trip 3 times a week. I want $900 for the parts, so let me know. Just throwing it out there!

Compression ratio increases as boost increases. Which head & pistons are in your motor?

There are tons of CR and boost calculators all over the intrawebs. Also, use this: Engine Design Utility

I'm talking a stock turbo with a P90 head and dished pistons. If you're running flat tops and an N42 you're going to be a lot more prone to knock.

More details on this $3K build.... that's a lot of $$$...

Fric frac i got more info today, they want to do a mild build on it the lead mech, was talking to me earlier he is gonna ask another mech a few questions and get back to me. He said that they are most likely to rebuild the motor with a new head (p90) and dished pistons, metal head gasket and apr head studs, so all in all im not sure what else is gonna be put in the motor he asked how many lbs of boost i wanted i said 10 to startstart and go up later, wanted

Metal head gasket is a waste of money unless you're running over 16 lbs. ARP head bolts and rod bolts are a good idea. I listed a good bang for your buck parts list on a few other threads

more on the build fric frac, he noted rebuilding the engine top to bottom, metal head gasket just for later on down the road, thats my personal choice, apr head studs, forged pistons and rods, better thermostat, turbo oil pump, and all new bearings on everything

I would worry about correcting the coolant and oil flow problems with the L-series before worrying about what kind of parts where installed.

Coolant - yes there are a few good threads on re-routing the coolant in the head on HybridZ but you'd have to search for them.

Oil flow problems?

The coolant "fix" for the head is more of a mad scientist (Frankenstein) approach. It's a lot of work... but keeps the cylinder head temp much more uniform, and looks dope too.

The only oil problems I am aware of would be from a mismatched head gasket.

well before anything gets touched im gonna go over everything with them they all seem really cool with any ideas i have for them, what oil problemes are there really, if im running a turbo oil pump, maybe cooling then i can get an oil cooler mounted external from the engine bay, im asking i havent heard of maybe problems that arise oil wise on a turbo build unless your using a huge turbo ect.

ya i found this thread on hybridz nismo, so basically tap into the #5 cylinder head and from shat it looks like is either another outlet for the hot trapped water in the rear on the head to flow better.

IMHO it's not really necessary for most applications. I'd put in an oil cooler with a thermal plate before I moded my head like that.... If I was racing and the car was wound out all the time then yes. Streat use.... probably not.
