Im brand new to this site and i joined to learn as much as i can before i start to do my vg30e turbo build. I know the basics of what im going to need such as h beam rods,quality pistons, turbo kit, and im thinking about rebuilding the valvetrain as well. I know plenty of people on here have done this to their vg30e and if you have please chime in. what MUSTS will i need in this build i have a 450 hp goal in this build. Im looking to spend about 5k on it. Will go over when it comes time cause of course it is my baby lol. And any thoughts on going megasquirt? ive heard mixed thoughts on it

You don't give much info on what you're starting with there, but you will be working in an area (Z31 rebuild/upgrade) that has been covered and threaded many, many times on this site. You def have to search the archives. For specific Qs, guys here will be happy to help where they can.

Check out your freebie factory service manual at XenonZ31 Reference along with the other cool docs available. Good place to start your reading up.

Provide some more info on your car for a start - and since pics inspire people, post some of those too if you can. You can actually bring people here INTO your project with more specific info. At this point, it's a kind of guessing game.

a z31 is never going to be great off the line with the small high speed diff . and the 3000lbs
my 86 turbo stock except for a bigger less rescrictive air filter and exhaust runs great .
their geared to low for real speed but most are ,to keep them on the road . 225 60's help a lot
I lighten mine all possible and put the batt where the spare was for better balance also lowered 1/2 "
