ok so i was watching pinks all out yesterday and they were talking about trans brakes. now i dont know much about them but is it possible to put one on the auto trans in these cars?

 

b&m sells an external trans brake kit, but the stock auto trans from any z car 89 and down would more then likely puke its guts the first round, theres also no real point in having a trans brake unless you wanna run below 8 seconds in the 1/4.

 

ok thanks just thinking it might have been cool to have one since the autos dont launch very well

 

yeah, the auto's from 89 down are pretty much slush box's period, fun to blow up right before you do a 5spd swap, but suck otherwise.

 

ya once i get money for the trans swap that what i plan on doin

 

Get a high stall torque converter.

 

and watch him snap and input or output shaft or both?
