Note: Im a car noob.

Car was running smooth and fine except that after heavy rains last night, and starting it today morning it wont go past 2000 rpm's in any of the gears. Everything else is fine. Did a bit of reading and came across that it might be water in the tps location. I am clueless as to where it is located so I can open it up and let it dry.

Update: Initially it wouldnt even idle the next morning after the rains. After about half a day, it idles fine now but still wont go past 2000rpm in any of the gears though it does go all the way to 5000 +rpm when in neutral.

Help guys

Thanks in advance. Been driving to work about 50kms a day at about 60 kmph and loud music in 100 zone the last 2 days. Pissed a lotta people out there

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor.

It's the black sensor on the throttle body (see picture).

I'm sure the previous owner/mechanic of my car would be glad to chime in on this one and say that when the tps goes out the way to fix it is screw up the AFM to compensate.
The relevance of this post is that if neanderthals have gotten loose under your hood, ya might wanna check both.

Tps

Pull the plug off the TPS...you'll probably see the water sitting in the connection. Mine does the 2500 rpm routine every time I wash the engine!! Also check for corrosion on the connector and the pins on theTPS.
