thxone's Turbo Resto/Project
NismoPick...you are my favorite PeckerHead....lol j/k
Anyway...is this the thing I need to cap or modify? and here is a pic of the boost controller, it was $5.95 and it works fine...it even has the bleed hole.

Yep... that's the valve. If you trust the MBC you could just yank it & use a 1" plug w/ the same threads (I got mine from Home Depot). Or you can modify the valve by drilling out the rivet, removing the spring, adding some washers, and put it back together.
I trust this MBC to maybe 10 psi....once I do an intercooler I will want an electronic controller. Of course with mid 300cc injectors then 15psi I hope.
I think your first suggestion Nismo would be the way to go...have you had any ill effects from adding the plug and how much boost do you run?

Well I made a little video...again, this time from in the car. It pulls very well with the 2 psi extra boost...I wasn't even fully on the gas either. I also got the plug, NismoPick, is this what I needed? It is a 1" galvanized plug...the threads look very close to the valve in the car...can't put it in yet, I don't have the monster of a wrench you need to get at the 1 1/4" nut....dammit.

I used to play the Grey Dunlop nylons....then for as long as I can remember I have used the red Tortex Dunlop .50mm, I have recently tried the 2.0mm but have settled with the orange Tortex .60mm's and they ROCK!!!
11psi 11psi 11psi!!!!!
The pop valve has been removed and the hole is now capped. NismoPick, that was in fact the exact plug and thread size (1" galvanized plug) it is in the plumbing section at Home Depot for a dollar something for those who still need to know.

Thxone, I'm right behind you. I just got my boost gauge, and I'm about to hook it up. I was curious, where did you get your MBC, ebay? Cus I really want to do about the same and just up the boost a couple PSI.
Otherwise I'll just have to build my own.

nooo, mine still aint reliable, it teases me, gives me a day or so of good running then tells me to F myself, but youll see it all in my thread.
as for you mr thxone, seems like your hooked on boost, time for an IC find a way to ditch the AFM (perhaps a Z31 upgrade) cams bigger injectors, re-stud teh head with bolts that wont expand (ARP fo sho) and metal headgasket and get that boost up to 15 and come back all ***** happy.

I went to Jamba Juice yesterday and ordered a power Citrus Squeeze. They said they were offereing a free "Boost" so I ordered a "Turbo Boost"...
My car didn't seem any quicker or faster afterwards though.

What did I do wrong?

when a big guy walks in there and ask for a turbo or nitrous boost they say "ok" and give you the femm boost!

It is cheap, it works, and you can pic the color, I picked red when I paid with paypal. Took 4 days to get here, not to bad but he does not answer emails quickly...if you can spare the $5.95 + $5.95 shipping, I say go for it...it does have the bleed hole which help prevent spike, doesn't eliminate them but it helps greatly...I have seen no spikes yet on my gauge. First things first...get some big channel lock pliers and remove that pop valve after you get the plug from Home Depot (1 inch galvanized plug in Plumbing) it has a square head on it...tighten it down as much as you can then put on the MBC...I can help with that too if you need help though it does come with instructions but mine will be better
Yes snw...I am addicted and will get an intercooler, but that is down the road a little bit and will be part of a bundle so to speak (IC, Injectors, Fuel Rail, as per your instructions the HKS SSQWASWQAAS or whatever it was....got killer reviews, and all the IC piping) I may invest in the ECU that has been upgraded for more maps and boost from the Z store...we will see.
Actually, don't mess with your stock 280ZX Turbo ECU. You're better off doing the MAF conversion and going to a Z31 Turbo ECU from Jim Wolf and have it re-programmed for the injectors and turbo you're going to run.
