I tell ya what... once you hit that certain point in your life (usually at 25+ years old) you just don't want to deal with a high maintenance car every day. Your Z was reliable for a long time, but cars get old & wear out. At 18, all nighter tranny / motor swaps were fun... now it's "I want a nice car that I don't have to worry about."

Bleachie, whether the Z must be retired, or stored for a time, we here witcha on this one.

sorry to hear that bleach .. i would store it .. you wont get jack **** for it now .. Maybe 2 max 3k ? you'll **** that away within a month and will be left with nothing, and regret!
I agree with nismo.. you need a no worry car i have a daily driver 07 BMW 320D Mpack fully loaded ..(hell it has 180HP and 430 nm of torque it could blow the doors off an na z ) It is a car i just don't need to worry about ..
And if your choice is a Renault 350 so be it .. but KEEP THE ZX!!

My yellow z just threw a rod bearing ... but i love it anyhow... so back in storage until i find the time to fix her ... again !
(If you will decide to sell .. id love to get bids on those wheels adapters , haha parting your ride here )

anyhow dont sell .. store ..even if it is at a ustore for a few months!

dude, I registered on my350Z.com a while ago!

Frank, $2-3K ??? I figure without those wheels on there the car is worth $1000 to maybe 1500 max in its current condition. I just sold a smashed turbo Z for $500 and it didn't sell in a week. Took a couple months. That thing had... uh... a working T5 in it.
I look online now and there is a local 280ZX 2+2 turbo 5-speed that runs and drives for $1300!!! (no pictures though)

I also can't justify $1000/year storage. The cheapest parking storage I see if about $80 a month. I've had people putting 'dibs' on my wheel adaptors for months now.

I live in the land of plentiful Datsuns. They aren't a rare commodity up here. Maybe if I imported it to canada I could get top dollar for it.

But the car is home again and my day of major stress has passed. I'll sleep on it a while. I am moving in a few weeks so I'm going to have to deal with towing it somewhere.

My family is moving out to Portland Oregon in a week, my dad might be interested in it since I've hi-jacked his 280ZX... and they'll have a lack of cars there (3 drivers, 1 car)

No promises though but if you do chose to sell it, I'll tell him about it.

Don't sell it. My first car was a 87 GNX, had to sell it. Regret it everyday of my life. I've sold a few cars that I regret selling. Now I just keep em. My 3KGT hasn't ran in a year. Another blown motor, all most ready for a new short block. Just find a safe place to put it, get your stuff taken care of and then pull it back out and blow the dust off it.

i've got to agree with Las VegaZ. my dad had a 64 impala ss 409 that had seen better days. one day someone had seen it from the street, and his driveway is about 1/4 mile long, and talked him into selling it for $500. he regrets it all the time. just find it somewhere to sit, under a tarp, in a barn, even in your living room, hey it even comes with cupholders who needs a couch. mine hasn't ever ran on the street other then the night i drove it home. and it sits for a month at a time between start ups. with proper care the engine will out live you.

I'm already hauling a broken down Fairlady Z with me to my apartment complex. I have no place to stockpile cars for free... hauling it to Oregon or Canada is not an option. Seriously think about how much time and money that would take.

There is a lot more going on in my life than a broken car and moving... but its none of your business.

I've had a day to think about it and I'm letting the Z go. The car will need a full trailer. With the semi-seized tranny you can't tow it on a dolly. It kinda has power in 1st so maybe it'll drive itself up onto a flatbed.

and again, to the argument of fixing it, the Z was already on the list to potentally sell before the tranny blew. So if I fixed it, that would be only so I could sell it for more money. The investment would not be worth the return.

I never thought I'd get rid of my Datsun 620 truck and it was stolen without recovery. At least I may see this Z fixed up. Oh, and I'm getting a Frontier to replace that truck. So I'll just have to get a three fiddy Zee to replace the old ZX. Maybe I'll get a Brickyard or Interlagos Fire to honor her.

i was talking aboot doing myself, and that other guy is gonna ship it himself, so you dontr have to worry, if i read his post correctly. if you want to sell, i wont store it, it was only an offer if you were gonna keep it. and the frontier has better leg room anyway.

The new owner has friends on Ratsun.net so he should be on there. I'll see if I can coax him over to Zdriver. He'll get much better tech info here

ya, she will be missed. The transmision is sorta falling into place internally. 1st is broken but 2nd started to work. I may take my lady for one last drive around the yard in the Z this weekend. I pulled all my stereo equipment out of it and emptied all the compartments. Found some stuff I forgot was there!

oh the memories
