swapping clusters..

okay so i have a cluster from my parts car that im going to put in my driver. but i took the two top screws out of the facia plate and cant get the things out. its like the facia is connected to the clear plastic cover/cluster.. it pulls like very little out and wont come any further. anyone know?!?

There's two more screws on the bottom behind the steering column cover. You'll also have to either take off the steering wheel, or unbolt the column from the dash cross frame. And don't forget to disconnect the speedo cable.

Okay took the steering column down and it didn't help anything and took bottom two out. Still won't pull out

Did you disconnect the speedo cable?

I can't get my hand up there. There's like a plate in the way. But even pulling on the tach side it still doesn't want to move

Well there's only 4 main phillips screws holding it in (two above holding the colored trim piece, and two below attached onto white tabs). There may be rubber shims to hold it in place, but it should slide out.

Got it. It was the shims up top. Attached to the cluster that like pop up to keep it from leaving the dash

new problem.. these pins the chrome ones circled.. those two connectors i have to get off and they dont snap or anything i dont think but they are on there with a brute amount of force.. i dont wanna break anything so any suggestions on them or just pull the F'ers ?

This mother will not pull off... Idk like I've got it to where I can get a good grip but like its pulling up the green circuit board almost

lol alright well with a little handy work of a flat bladed screw driver it finally gave way. and i completed the swap thanks for the help

Hi,
I had similar problems when I removed my cluster to clean it.On my car the speedo has a connector down in the footwell by the brake pedal.I needed to disconnect it here to move the cluster forward enough to release it.
