Strange AFM Resistance flap resistance

Hi,

I am following the repair guide at AFM https://www.zdriver.com/forums/240z-...our-afm-15277/

I am a bit confused about the resistance when I move the flap. It goes up and then goes down again.

Something like this: (between pin 32 and 34)

0/16: 340
1/16: 165
2/16: 412
3/16: 280
4/16: 480
5/16: 280
6/16: 480
7/16: 240
8/16: 470
....
It goes up and down very step. Plotting it would make it look like a zig zag pattern.

How is it supposed to be?
How granular does the computer use this number?

Usually that means the carbon track is worn out. There should be instructions in that write-up on how to adjust the board to get a clean carbon track sweep.

Actually I think it does step up and down. The carbon tracks are not straight either. The FSM doesn't step through it to that detail IIRC...

It would be very interesting to see how the computer uses this information.

Have anyone hacked the ECU?

I guess it is some common microcontroller in it.
Nissan should release all their old source code

Honestly it's old useless crap. If you want to play with the ECU don't waste your time with one designed in the 1970s - get a modern programable ECU.
