Starts great, idle drop/choke after 3 mins

1983 280zx, non turbo, 5spd

I'm at my wits end with this! Car cranks and sounds great! Once car starts to warm up, after about 3 minutes, the idle drops. When I hit the gas it almost chokes out bc it's running so rich.

Here's what we've replaced so far:
head coolant temp sensor & rewired to ECU
thermotime sensor
ported vacuum switch
new distributor
fuel pressure regulator
injectors

CSV functions fine

Unplugged O2 sensor & it didn't make a difference

Any suggestions? This is my daily driver and I'm about to just climb into it and set it all on fire, lol.

Going to clean the AFM tomorrow and see if that helps. It's def something temp related, I just can't figure out what 😰

Thank you in advance for your help.

Welcome to ZDriver!

Are you on the 280ZX Drivers Facebook group? Seems like there was a post about this there too...

Have you OHM tested the CHTS through the ECU connection? Just because you replaced it doesn't mean it's working. Test it.

Have you done the Air Regulator pinch test on the hose between throttle body and air reg? It should lower rpm when cold, do nothing when warm.

Have you checked timing?

Checked the ohm tested the sensor & it works fine. Maybe its faulty? May send it back.

Going to need new hose to pinch that regulator connection off, it's so stiff it feels like cement 😂
the timing is good.

-now it won't even crank

Won't crank? Or won't start? If it won't crank, you have battery problems. If it cranks but won't start, pull the plugs to see if it's actually flooded (wet plugs) or no fuel (dry plugs).
