you might wanna re-drain your gear oil to get all those brass chunks out of the gear box.

Maybe your door switch is bad? Maybe push it a few times. Then close the door. Try it on both sides.

yeah the door switch is bad, or your door no longer pushes on it all the way, or the wire broke somewhere. its a simple fix just play around and trace the wires nothing complicated at all.

on my ZX it was the door latch. Loosen it and move it inward 1mm and tighten the bolts down. That brings the door in just enough to keep the switch closed.

i thought i would add that it's probably the pilot bearing not the throwout bearing because the transmission input shaft is spinning at engine speed when in neutral with the clutch out. when the clutch is pushed in the transmission is detatched from the engine because the clutch is engauged. therfore the noise would go away because the transmission input shaft is no longer spining... if it was the throwout bearing it would make noise when pushing the clutch pedal in and pushing the throwout bearing against the pressure plate fingers because it would then have pressure applied to the bearing and spinning with the pressure plate. so i'd go with it all if your in there but make sure you replace the PILOT BEARING!!! good luck

if engine speed increases and car speed stays the same, drops, barely increases, or changes at a rate that is unusual for the conditions, that is almost definately clutch slip.

Kid: i was wondering why everyone was saying throwout bearing. that should be under little to no pressure when the clutch is out, so it would be more prone to make noise when the clutch is in. sounds like your tranny is in pretty bad shape if it didn't have any fluid... i wouldn't trust that one as far as i could throw it
