your rear diff mount may be going bad? just a thought. mine is basically gone and it will do that in all gears. not really a jerk after i get into 3rd then its more like a hesitation. I'm new to the Z world excluding Z31s so maybe it could be something else

check the mount bolts, they loosen up after a while and that can cause that jurking. I have to do that to my car as well when i get a chance. I read about that issuse on hybridz

I doubt it has anything to do with your drive line at all. Sounds like something is loose in the engine compartment. Especially judging by your other thread. I'm too tired to put any thought into it right now as far as whats actually wrong with the car though. Put al the details you put in your other thread in this one so people will know all the problems you're having. The way you described it here it almost sounds like a driveline problem. But in your other thread you added a little more information that kind of elimates that.

Good to hear you're not selling your Z anymore though

Don't pay no atation to the thick black gunk around a rear end. UNLESS you see new gear oil around it. Rear ends, oil pans, and botom of tranys tend to "Gunk Up" with thick black stuff over the year's. Just check your level, Scrape the rear end, and keep an eye out for new gear oil. And the jerkin in 1st gear, and not in secound Could mean, your 1st gear in the trany is going out... But that's just my 2 cents
