shipping question

i sold those rims to a guy in L.A. for his 240sx. they weigh about 40pds each (thats including tyres). For those you have shipped wheels before where did you get the packing supplies and what company did you use?

It's usually best to ship them in pairs (two rims per box). MailBoxes Etc & The UPS / FedEx Store are the big shipping stores here. You can buy boxes & peanuts from them & ship there too (for an overhead cost obviously).

It will be cheaper if you can pack them & ship them yourself @ the UPS or FedEx hubs.

he wants the tyres too so thats what makes it weigh more. i was thinking about deflating the tyres though.

that must be some thick steel!

My Enkei 15's were nice and light. basically feather weight even with the tires.

you should buy some 22's. They'll be lighter weight than those Rotas.

Thats what I though when I shipped my wheels/tires. The tires weight alot more then I though, definately more then my rims. FOr packing I had to buy boxes from a U-haul store.

i got my rims (no tyres) shipped to me, each indibvidually packaged. they came just fine. there may be a 60 pound max on stuff, so it may take 4 boxes. the tires will help them from getting damaged in shipping.
