Most people take the throttle body from the KA. Other than that, I don't think much else can be used without some kinda modding. A few have adapted the dashboard into their Z's, but those were the earlier S30 and S31 chassis.

the zx seats suck what are you talking about?

i doubt that the seats would fit but it wouldnt take much to make them fit, just measure the seat and make sure its not wider than what can fit in your car, would stuck to have seats too wide and not be able to close the door

What year 240SX? I wouldn't give more than about $15 or $20 each for someone's stock used seats unless it was from a Z32 or a Porsche...

I'll save you a search:
For the TB, it depends if the 240 has cruise control or not. If it doesn't have cruise, you just have to add a 1" spacer and bolt it up. If it has cruise, you're going to have to cut the shaft for the linkage, and then bolt up the linkage from the ZX onto it.

I wouldn't get the seats from an S13. They are the worst seats ever created. There's a reason most people in Japan would ditch them as soon as they can. They were nicknamed kidney busters because of how bad they were. If you don't mind a sore back, you can use those seats, but I don't recommend them.

it is an SE so its got the cruise

so its easier to put the cruise TB on?

and i was just wondering if the 240sx seats are better than the zx seats... sat in one a year or so ago and cant remember if they were any good

wheres snw and his 240 knowledge when you need him?

$60 for the seats? **** no, my local "u" pick has a saying

$20 a pair, any pair we dont care.

no some times if the seatbelts are on them its $25, i got my rear bumper and the 2 forester seats i am working on for $45, theres another set of forester seats but it would cost a hell of a lot to ship em

wheres the write up to change it to a cable instead of the shaft?
and also to get full benifit dont you have to bore out the opening of the intake?

YES. If you don't, you will loose power.
Dont' even bother though. A stock engine with a larger throttle will do nothing but give you a more sensative pedal

It's easier to bolt up the non cruise TB. The cruise TB is the one from the link, and it's a pain in the rear for the amount of work you have to do to mount it. The non-cruise just requires swapping on the 280zx linkage and you're done. It's similar to the SR TB swap that Nismo did.

Niku, yeah you have to bore out the intake to match, otherwise it's a pointless modification. Just stuff some rags in the intake, mark what you need to grind, and dremel away.

Edit: Bleach summed it up before I did. Ninja fast typing skills.

if he sells the TB for cheap ill pick it up other wise sounds like alot of work for a slight power gain

but any power gain is better than none

the factory throttle body has precision and control. That will do more for you than the SX throttle. Focus on your K&N intake and exhaust if you want to waste money for 4 extra horsepower. But that is just my opinion...

I originally was going to do the 60mm throttle body upgrade, but I've read so many forum threads amongst Zdriver, HybridZ, and Zcar that that say it's really not worth it. You have to widen the throttle opening on the manifold so you can fit this throttle body, then slightly modify the linkage. Now if you had a whole custom intake manifold that flows better then I'd say this may actually be a bit of a benefit. With the stock manifold it's a waste of time and money.

you have bottlenecks on both sides of it. that is why.

Ported head, ported intake runners, longer duration cam, bored intake manifold, larger throttle body, larger AFM (or MAS upgrade), and higher flowing air filter. That will get more air into the engine at high rpm. Then you need proper fuel management.

I am putting the 60mm throttle body..on my turbo conversion. Of course I will be running with a 300zx ECU...and MAF sensor with chopper wheel. Well you get the picture. That would make it worth..putting the 60mm TB on. Not a plain original N/A. But if you plan on doing something later. And the TB is cheap enough. Go ahead and get it. It can't hurt...and will be around...if you do some upgrades.
