a roumer about ZX cars.
acually in my max the 2nd dary fan comes on when it starts to hit critical mass as well as turning on when the A/C is on, theres 2 thermo switches in mine, i replaced one because i had rotted through. but the one that come on with the A/C still doesent come on and year it keeps it in rich mode when its cold i know about that.
the maxima is done how ever, thats how i wound up with the Z, i dont know if its a crank or rod bearing but what ever it is its previous owners lack of matience finally caught up to it after this long. it got to be a battery one week, starter the next, fouled plugs after that, then the bearing so its getting a new set of bearings when i can afford it and then it goes bye bye. i got 6 years out of it and theres always been a lower noise but it was so faint i could hardly hear it above everything else.

How much aintifreeze do these cars need? I got over a gal worth in my car. And everything still froze over. Overheated. And lost most of it. Although it never reached max temp. I found out the hard way, if you keep it at 50mph+, she will air cool. Outside temp is 17F here.
i jammed a jug in mine and it was pretty watered down when i filled it the rest of the way with water. so probally a jug and a half would be good, i tested it its good to 0F, from what i can gather online its never gotten that cold here in reccorded history. but what i came up with was kinda sketchy

Most bottles of antifreeze have the ratio's and the freeze level at those mixes. 75/25 is supposed to give the best freeze protection (over 75% will gel) but is usually a little too much to keep cool in the summer if you live in an area that gets much over 100F. Most people just run 50/50 as a compromise so they don't have to drain to change the ratio for the seasons.
Alright. Since my last overheat. I've notices a Termenduios amount of coolant lost. Tracked it down to a 6 inch crack across the top of the radiator. Guess she gave way from the pressure during overheat. I've pulled a radiator out of my stock(yes I have so many z parts, I can keep this thing running another 100 years) and it's from my 76. But she runs so much hotter now. Ain't the rad's the same? Old radiator kept me at just above the secound cold line. New one puts me in the middle
