Boredom made me come up with an idea today lol I found a bottle of Tarn-X or something like that, its for removing tarnish from metals and diamonds and the like. When I saw this I wondered how well it would work on cleaning my Zs connectors. Well I took a spare connect and dunked it in the remover for 3 min. Sure enough it came out all shiny new! the metal anyways lol

Tarn-X bath for 3 min, carb clean off, add wd-40. Holy crap it made my Z run even better!

Tho. does the TPS actually do anything? Turns out I took off forgetting to hook it up and it seemed to make no real diff if it was hooked up or not.

Eh.... my steering is getting REALLY floaty.... its starting to scare me a bit as I turn turn the wheel left or right a bit and it takes more then a touch to change directions.

EDIT: Well besides worn parts. My steering gearbox somehow came loose... and I noticed my tire is somehow rubbing the bolts and the body... I dont see how I have the factory sized wheels and tires on it.

Hmm does anyone have any issue with the petcock valve breaking off the bottom of the radiator? I noticed all my Z cars seemed to have this issue... I was thinking of a small bolt, steel washer then copper washer instead of the oem plastic kind.

Nah, not really. I think I might have broke one in my life. Anyway you can usually get them in the help me section, at auto part stores.

Ah well I'll do that.

On another note. I pulled out my speedo gear thing from my trans. sure enough it has a blue gear not a white gear. So I start working on the housing of the white gear to get it off. ended up breaking both the housing and the gear...

Today is one of those days where everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

That sucks man. All in the fun of working on cars. lol I have dealt with countless things with these Z cars especially. Just try to be patient, and figure out how you can get the right parts. And get it working correctly. Just trying to encourage you to carry on. I have had the little pep talks during my trials, and tribulations with my Z's. You will get there man, good luck.

Thanks. After that nice issue I had with the gear I slammed my hood and it had a tool in one of the gaps then managed to bend it really badly, break the latch, and somehow snap the breather port off my valve cover....

Theses are the kinda days I go "What the **** is going on..."

That is when you take what is called, a breather. Get away from it for a bit. And collect your thoughts. You don't want to do anything you will regret. Which you have started doing. Relax bro. It has been told to me countless times. When I wanted to give up. You will get there. You are closer than me. Keep the good fight. Good luck.

Wow that is a very nice Z! I love the custom door panels and speakers. Its Zs like yours that make me keep working on my Z to some day get it looking good as new and better!

Well after managing to bend and pound on the hood to get it back into amazingly close shape again along with the latch. I got the hood to close normal again. And I cleaned and installed my spare valve cover. so thats sorta fixed. I also fixed the broke off petcock valve so my radiator doesn't leak anymore. I apparently still have to pull the oil pan off and replace its gasket tho.

Boredom struck again last night. and I changed out my ECU with a spare I had for ***** and giggles. Holy crap it made such a HUGE diff. it idled perfectly smooth and reved very smoothly under no load to red line, I was stunned! I didnt think my first ECU was bad!

Then I went for a test drive and it would just always fall flat on its face at 3K rpm no matter what. while my original ECU didnt.... I'm confused. does that mean I have 2 bad ecus?

I am confused.

I have a visible oil puddle on the ground after driving around and parking. but non of my fluids seem to be going down... Trans is fine, engine oil is fine and coolant are all staying at the same level. weird.

Unless someone is sneaking into my closed locked garage at night and pouring oil under the ground. ya its from my Z.

and it is motor oil as its slick and not gear oil as it doesn't have that gear oil smell

its also not my brake fluid, PS fluid or , battery acid

Anyone have blueprints or something to make a frame jig? I know my Z has been in a wreak before and I'm wondering if something is ****ed up.

What is it with the little rubber stoppers on the pedals and them breaking so much? I went 2 days with the ones for my brake lights broken and today my Zs battery was dead as a doornail. fun times

Ok its taking my Z about 5-8 seconds of fuel pump to prim before I get enough pressure to start it. which should I bet looking a first? FPR or Fuel pump? Fuel pump is still the OEM, and I'm assuming the same is true for the FPR
