hahaha well yeah, they do look like ****.

And besides that, I don't like them :P

and I think the fender mounted mirrors would be neat... how does it let you see, though, I've never been in a car with them.

They work the same as they always do, their just mirrors, just I think they have to be adjusted a little further out

Maybe I should invest into a new set of wheels lol. I know the Ironcross wheels are one of the heaviest OEM wheels too.

Nope, the fender mirrors have a longer base with a different angle. I'm sure you could just remount the mirrors, but it wouldn't be "correct" (I've seen a couple guys do this on Z31's)

Ok something is wrong here, I used to get around 30MPG in my Z, And as of late its been going downhill fast. I'm not getting about 18 MPG, I already checked the basics of the connectors, CHT, fuel leaks ect. but I cant find anything out of the norm. and its running just fine. Any ideas?

Change the oil + check tire pressure?

On my grand prix, those two are the difference between 280miles per 16gal tank, and well over 320.

Check your TPS, and AFM. Make sure they are dialed in right. Your Z can run fine, but a little too rich. Happened to me before. I had the TPS too much to the left (richer) And was getting 14 mpg. After I adjusted towards the right. (leaner) I increased to 23 mpg. Hope that helps, good luck.

That just worked for me... I was down to 47mpg in my Geo, after the oil change and adding some air in the tires (all were low by 4-5psi) I'm back to 51mpg!

hehe...

I wanted to put a "silly hybrids, even I get 50mpg" sticker on my rear window, but I have a feeling it would probably get smashed in.

Ha! that would be great! Well, the sticker... not getting smashed in...

Heck, the new gas fiesta gets 40mpgs. Hybrid nothin, but then, im not big on "preserve the environment because its obviously more important than people"... No... more like "Take decent care of the environment cuz its what we're stuck with. But People trump it, anyway."

I dont think the "hybrid" type of people would smash it in... They might protest its emissions or cover it in flowers though lol... In WA we have so many tree huggin hybrid folk here its annoying.

lol hybrids. Why are cars getting better and newer but getting worse and worse MPG?

You know I did adjust the TPS not to long ago but I set it to the FSM settings. Guess I'll fiddle with it again! And the AFM is fine it reads the proper measurements.

Geez, Ive had my Z for like 3 years now. And I JUST now noticed. I have 2 LH Front turn signal lenses AND the housings where on the wrong sides and upside down! Guess I need to find a new lens for the right side lol

Also, dumb question maybe. Can I paint the inside of the housings with like shiny silver paint to make them a bit brighter? or will it even do anything?

Well J-CubZ, eventually there will be one more of our kind there!

Seattle or just the Washington coast is my goal of where to live

As for you, Blue, you can paint them, but I don't think they'll increase the brightness. Same thing that blacked out headlamp housings aren't dimmer.

If you want brighter, get brighter bulbs (or LEDs).

I've actually thought about grabbing a set of new generation GM amber turn signals and adapting them to the bumper... they are A LOT more noticeable...

I was also thinking of modding the side markers blink too. But I'm not sure how to have them constantly on AND blink when need tho. And LEDs huh? I didnt think they where much brighter then normal bulbs. I'll have to check that out. I'm just getting tired of not being SEEN.

The front turn signals & rear tail / brake lights use 1157 dual filament bulbs. To include the side markers to stay lit all the time AND flash for turn signals, you need 2 filament bulbs, or build some crazy relay that would make them flash.

On my car for the alarm I tapped into the harness on the output side of the stop/side marker lamp check circuit under the passenger side. I removed one of the pins in the socket and crimped on the stock wire and a secondary that goes to the alarm. That way everything is kept stock and it's just a matter of snipping off the secondary wire right at the pin to return it to original - no hacking up the stock harness. On page 72 of the EL section for the '83 280ZX in the FSM you'll notice the RG wire hits all the signal lights (RL for those with out the Check computer/display). It's doable but it would be a pain because essentially all the marker lights are controlled by a single input and there are four lights. The harness splits between front and rear. If it was side to side it would make it a lot easier.

Probably the easiest way would be to use four relays. One for each marker light. Use the signal from the light flashing on to break the circuit to each individual marker light. That would definately be the easiest way to have them flash.

And thats just what I did, one relay inside the fender. it was really easy too. I just used a 5 prong relay and used the normally closed side of the relay and I tapped into the power to the flasher of that corner. so when the light on the front comes on, the side turns off. Then when it isn't flashing its always on!

Easy! And is standard Nissan relays too lol Should I make a diagram for a sticky?

I'm shaving my side markers. So this mod wont be needed. lol Anyway, I am going for a smooth sleek look on my slicktop. And a more stock look on my T-top.

lol Nice. Tho I didn't think of something till I finished installing the relays. The side markers only blink when the lights are actually on! *facepalm* So besides the relays on each marker, you need another to give power to the NO side of the relay only when the lights are off! Otherwise they wont blink at all when the lights are on lol

Well I think I'm gonna swap in my digi dash into my Z seeing as I keep breaking mechanical speedometers, and I'm not lucky enough to find a 79Z speedo either. Not Just gotta find a good tach and then a place to put it.
